Family Relationship DNA testing in different cases

DNA testing plays an important role in confirming or identifying various biological family relationships. Now, you can easily get the truth about whether your relationship is real or not. Apart from paternity testing which is very common, there are other various types of family DNA testing:

·         Avuncular testing

This testing is considered a good option if the only persons are available for testing the alleged father’s siblings. The avuncular testing involves the testing of a child’s paternal uncle or paternal aunt and including the mother in this testing is recommended because of the more strengthening of the genetic evidence.

·         Sibling testing

This type of DNA involves the two or more people who potentially share the same biological one or both parents. It is strongly recommended that if the mother(s) are known or can be tested then it will strengthen the DNA results. This test is very common, search as “Sibling DNA test near me” and you will find lots of options in your region.

·        Maternity test

In this testing, we determine whether the particular woman is the biological mother or not. It can resolve the situations in which mothers or hospital staff have a doubt that a baby mix-up has happened in the nursery.

·         Twin zygosity testing

In some cases where twins have slight differences in appearances, there will be a need for a DNA test to confirm the twins are identical or fraternal.

  •  Identical twins: These twins come from the one fertilized egg, called Zygote. This zygote is usually developed into one child, later grows, and splits early in development to form two embryos, which are identical twins. These identical twins have exactly the same DNA because they come from one egg, and one sperm.

  • Fraternal twins: In this case, two different eggs are fertilized by two different sperms. Fraternal twins don’t have exactly the same DNA. Although like other siblings, they are expected to share some of the DNA.
